Afterlife Zombies

Will We Ever See Real Zombies?

While many of us will unlikely ever see a real zombie in our regular lives, we can continue to enjoy them in our favorite shows and movies like The Walking Dead and Dawn of the Dead. However, the possibility to see real zombies might be around the corner during the Afterlife.

Anything is Possible During the Afterlife

Nobody knows what the Afterlife is like, leaving our imaginations to create a new world. Like our imagination, anything is possible in this world. We could all be in a galaxy far far away with lightsabers, or facing hordes of the undead.

The new novel Battle for the Afterlife Saga, Blue Courage by CJ Davis

explores these possibilites. In his book, which I have read an advanced copy of, there are zombies called Lost Souls. They are every bit as terrifying as the zombies in today’s pop culture.

The basic principle around the flesh eating ghouls, is that they are people in the Afterlife, that lost their motivation to grow their souls. Overtime people that do not pursue personal growth through hobbies, interests, work and other passions eventually become Lost Souls. Eternity is a long time, after all. Boredom can drive a person insane!

His book is very good, and I highly recommend it. It’s filled with characters I cared about, and also had plenty of action and adventure.

CJ Davis’s novel is coming out in the fall 2013.

world war z movie

World War Z, the epic Zombie novel by writer Max Brooks, has been having some financing problems.  Evidently Paramount Pictures has been a little risk adverse noting that they have been looking for business partners to help fund the now 125m + budget of the film.

According to Deadline, coming to the rescue is Larry Ellison (the Leader of Oracle) to help co-finance the project.  Nothing is final at this point, but evidently, the talks are “hot and heavy” with production beginning in June.  Ellison also helped to finance some other projects including Iron Man 2.  Ellison is known for a bit of grand-standing (which is clear based on the SAP TomorrowNow/Oracle trial late last year – which I won’t waste anymore type space on).  If he funds the project, I’ll make a bet with anyone that we’ll see him in a cameo of the movie (just like in Iron Man 2 – where he plays himself).

No doubt this pushes off the rumored 2012 delivery date of the film.

With star power including Brad Pitt and director Marc Forester, my feel is that we’ll see a great Zombie Movie get made….It’s just a matter of when and who steps to the table to help finally finance it.

Yes, you read it correctly, we at ZombieChatter.com have decided to give our visitors one more reason to waste their day thinking about zombies…..  We’ve added a Zombie Flash Arcade Game section to the site.  These games are free to play, and bring you all the best Zombie Games on the web.  We will cycle through games every once-in-a-while – keeping the best ones and letting the un-popular ones “die” off, and then adding new ones in their place.

Play NOW

Starting off this months premeir game section are the following games:

  • Impale: Play this puzzle game by throwing zombie bodies at a series of spikes and traps, completing each challenging level.
  • Fly Zombie Fly: Throw your zombie as far as you can in this zombie update to the classic cannon shooter.  You can use extra cool tools to make the zombie bodies go further – pretty fun!
  • Flaming Zombooka 2:   The Angry Birds of Zombie Games!  Zombie bazooking time has returned, now with more weapons, more gore, more ways to kill zombies, and a choice of character. Mouse. Aim. Shoot.
  • Days 2 Die: Side-scrolling zombie escape game.  There is plot to this one, and it requires some skill!  Can you escape to the harbor?
  • Dawn of the Celebs: Celebrity Killing fun!   All the Celebrities have turned into Zombies and YOU are the only one who can kill them off!
  • Blood Red: Blood Red is a silhouette styled zombie survival game in which you fight waves of ever increasing difficulty.
  • 24 Days in the Mall: Survive 24 days in the mall against infinite waves of zombies and other freaks, while shooting then from the roof with your Combat car.
  • Curse Village: An action defense game where you fight against waves of the undead from behind barricades!  There’s no escape, fight back or become one of them!
  • City of Zombies and Ninjas 3D:  A cool zombie game where you must fight raging zombies as a sexy ninja, with nice 3d-rendered graphics and fast-paced fighting action using your katana, ninja stars, grenades, and more!
  • Brainz Game:  Standard top-down zombie horde game – how long can you survive?
  • Blood Run: While the graphics are nothing special, I challenge you to not become addicted to this little game where the point is to turn as many of the living into zombies as possible…
  • Army of Darkness:  Nothing to do with the movie…however, this little game is like 1942 with zombies.  You’re a helicopter pilot flying above an “amy of darkness” trying to kill as many zombies and monsters as possible.  Has over 25 levels of zombie killing fun!

Play them all, and be sure to leave some feedback in the comments section of each game page.  If you love it, we’ll keep it….if you don’t we’ll replace them with better ones.

The world is being invaded by blood-thirsty zombies. In a brave attempt to save your village you’re fighting back to keep the undead behind the barricades. There’s no escape, fight back or become one of them! Defend your village in 30 levels from the invading zombies.

Trailer for Robert Kirkmans The Walking Dead series on AMC

Hey everybody, this is a bootleg trailer of the upcoming Walking Dead six-episode series airing on AMC in October.  Watching it, they are starting out just like the Graphic Novel series, however I do notice some little differences.  Example, looks like they follow the African American father/son neighbors a little.  Also, I don’t remember a Tank from the comics.  Anyway, I can see that they are going to expand past the original story.

According to Frank D., he is going to use the graphic novel as a great series of breadcrumbs to follow, however he is going to expand the narrative and grow the story.  I continue to get more and more excited about this.  Below is the trailer, and the panel with the major players from Comic-Con.

The Trailer for Walking Dead on AMC:

The Panel From Comic-Con:

Just read that Universal Dead, a popular online Web Series about zombies, has been optioned by paramount to be turned into a feature length movie.  The news comes from Comic-Con, and was announced by the lead writer/producer Kelly Parks.

Currently, you can find the first three episodes created on Youtube.  There is only about 15-20 min. of film.  The series is really good, and I’m excited to see what they do with the story when they have a budget.  I’m hoping this is the first of many new zombie films that will be put into play now that World War Z has Brad Pitt attached, and is set for 2012.

Universal Dead Synopsis:

Planet Earth is ravaged by a strange disease that turns people into mindless murderers.  As civilization struggles to survive, a small team of US Navy SEALs must protect a doctor from the Center of Disease Control on a mission to discover the secret to mankind’s salvation.  Facing endless attacks from infected cannibals and lawless bandits, the tight-knit unit races against time to save what’s left of the world.

I don’t have much else in terms of info on this one, so I’ve gone ahead and just posted the first installment of the story below:
