Great Moments In Alcoholism
Tuesday, May 13th, 2008found this on www.cnn.com
DARWIN, Australia (AP) — An Australian driver who secured a carton of beer in his car with a seat belt but left a 5-year-old child unrestrained was fined 750 Australian dollars ($710; €460), police said Tuesday.
Constable Wayne Burnett said he was “shocked and appalled” when he pulled over the unregistered car on Friday in the central Australian town of Alice Springs.
The 30-can carton was strapped in between the two adults sitting in the back seat of the car. The child was also in back, on the vehicle’s floor.
“The child was sitting in the lump in the center, unrestrained,” Burnett told reporters Tuesday.
“I haven’t ever seen something like this before,” he said. “This is the first time that the beer has taken priority over a child.”
The driver was fined for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and for failing to ensure a child was wearing a seat belt.
Alice Springs Police Superintendent Sean Parnell expressed shock at the incident in a statement released Tuesday.
“This serves as a timely reminder to all drivers to ensure they wear seat belts and ensure as is their responsibility that all passengers in their vehicle are secured in the appropriate manner,” he said.
This guy really went for broke on this one. I think his personal motto is something like, “Unregistered, uninsured, unsafe and irresponsible”. Then again, you’ve got to hand it to him…he really has his priorities.
Vaporized Alcohol
Friday, February 22nd, 2008So what if I told you that you could buy alcohol that would limit your hang over and you would not have to ingest the carbs you do in drinking beer and other drinks, but you would probably feel drunk faster. Would that excite you? Well evidently they make this stuff!
It is called Vaporized Alcohol.

Now I’m a pretty down to earth guy and I enjoy sitting at a bar listening to some good tunes and sipping on a beer as much as the next guy, but I have to admit I do have some fascination in this. Sure you look a little like you are hitting a crack pipe, but fuck it.
It seems this stuff has been around since 2004 in the states (I know where the fuck have I been?!?) it was started in Europe and
Evidently the time to act is now though if any of us want to try this because recently a law has been passed to illegalize this Vaporized Air of the Gods. Leave it to
I’m all about something that allows me to become intoxicated and not have the hangover the next day. Even if it just limits the hangover that is a step in the right direction as far as I’m concerned. Plus it gets you drunk quicker so you don’t have to spend as much money getting to where you need to be! On top of all of that it is a healthy alternative to drinking beer!
All the beer is gone
Monday, February 4th, 2008Holy crap, we drank a lot of beer last night. This mornings clean up reminded me of that. Even after the keg was tapped, we managed to go threw another 30 or so beers….I mean we tapped into my backup beer.
Even all my whiskey is gone…although I know who to blame for that. Just about the only thing left was wine. We have a ton of wine. Guess I’ll have to drink it over the coming weeks to make sure it doesn’t go bad. Life is so tough.
100 Most Drunken Cities - Mens Health
Wednesday, December 5th, 2007Mens Health released their official “Drunkest Cities” report.

The report research is based off of:
- Death rates due to alcoholic liver disease
- Who’s headed there by regularly downing five or more drinks in a sitting (CDC).
- Drunk-driving arrests (FBI)
- Percentage of fatal accidents involving intoxicated motorists (U.S. Department of Transportation).
- MADD report card of state efforts to cut down on excessive drinking
I have listed the top 2 and the bottom 2 below:
Most Drunken Cities:
100 Denver, CO
99 Anchorage, AK
Least Drunken Cities:
2 Miami, FL
1 Durham, NC
See the Full List
Denver - If Atlanta, ranked as the 12th least drunken city, had distribution of the Belgium style Fat Tire Beer we would have given them a run for their money.
Anchorage - Big shocker….what the hell else is there to do besides suck snow and wrestle cola drinking polar bears ?
Miami- They screwed something up…either that or there is a cover up going on. Isn’t Miami where some of the biggest clubs and most dangerous drug king pins are. You telling me Latinos don’t drink?
Durham - UNC has one of the best MBA programs in America….now we know why. This city sucks - very few bars, full of research triangle geeks.
Perhaps even more interesting then the list, they have created a Geographical Map showing all of the stats from above by city. You can see it by clicking here.
