Most lenses can’t focus IR wavelengths on the same plane as visible light. That’s why you may have to slightly shift the lens’ focus when shooting in IR. If your lens isn’t one that is marked in IR, you can focus manually. It is easy enough to work in either Manual or Aperture priority mode. Simply choose the mode that you are most comfortable using — there is no right or wrong.
