I <3 mellos Re: Who better the Woodwinds or brass? 12:50 on Friday, January 01, 2010 well some random person asked me once what my instrument was and I said "bassoon." Last week, we brought a used (but new to me) Yamaha tenor sax in just to see if there was anything that needed to be done. A couple of the pads were replaced, but for the sake of making the instrument "easier to play." Most other places I have gone to would have claimed that if all notes could come out, then nothing needed to be done download. The bell at the end of the clarinet and saxophone conveys only a part of the sound, any open hole on the instrument is also producing sound. As a result, these single-reed woodwind instruments will radiate sound in a much wider pattern than brass, and microphones must be placed in such a way as to receive sound from the holes and the bell http://www.zombiechatter.com/library/piece-in-g-minor-clarinet-and-piano-by-g-pierne-southern-music-company-ss-93. Brass end-caps on the two small tenons and the boot sockets also wear brass inserts http://googlesniperguru.com/ebooks/symphony-in-e-flat-major-op-1-clarinet-2-part-qty-2-a-2134. This frequency range also happens to be the range in which the human ear is most sensitive, so these instruments need to be reined in a bit. I mean—these things go off like a Howitzer http://www.zombiechatter.com/library/dance-concerto-for-solo-clarinet-bass-clarinet-and-wind-ensemble! For those who are interested in such things, I was told this was the soprano that Keilwerth copied, back in the sixties and even until today. Except Keilwerths never made a soprano with rolled tone-holes. This is a really prime example, with high notes NOT sharp, keywork tight, pearls still sharp. Its suitable for Dixieland, Big Band playing, classical saxophone quartet, Kenny-G imitations or whatever you want to do with it http://studentsofpakistan.org/library/30-easy-pleasing-duets-for-two-clarinets.
