The Gate – 1987

So I watched The Gate this weekend and it was great. It is one of those movies from my childhood that for some reason stuck with me. I would consider it the horror version of Goonies. My favorite line… “YOU’VE BEEN BADDD!”

Great nastalgia.

I like the kids “You’ve got Demons” Kind of the early version of you got mail. Who knew how progressive this movie really was

I really like this one too. I remember them using a “model rocket” to kill the main monster at the end….which is kind of cool, but never really made sense to me. It’s been a long time since I watched, so maybe the “kid me” mis-interpreted it in some way shape or form.

The model rocket technically did not kill the monster. It was what the rocket represented. The rocket was a gift from his sister, which represented true love. The demon could only be destroyed by true love.

I know what you mean though… I did not remember that either.
