Live From the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum!
On the Travel Channel

Lose Your Mind at the Asylum
From 8 PM to 3 AM E/P on Friday, Oct. 30, the Ghost Adventures crew — Zak, Nick and Aaron — will lock themselves into the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV, for the most ambitious paranormal investigation ever attempted. During this 7-hour live event, they will examine the reported hauntings and ghostly activity at this legendary landmark.

Built during the Civil War, the asylum is the second-largest hand-cut stone building in the world. For decades its thick walls housed the insane, the neglected and the unwanted. Violence was a common occurrence and inmates were often subjected to brutal treatment. Shut down permanently in 1994, this massive edifice has remained vacant ever since.

Halloween Special

Another example of how the bottom of the gene pool lives.  I’ve got money that these two will win a Darwin Award someday soon…

It does not get much stranger than this. Corbin Bensen is directing a zombie baseball movie to F’ with the producers of ML4.

“It’s called THREE STRIKES, YOU’RE DEAD,” Bernsen reveals, explaining that fan enthusiasm for certain of his movies helped inspire the concept. “I come to these conventions and meet people, and there are two things they like: They enjoy horror, but they’re also into the MAJOR LEAGUE movies I was in. And this is kind of a revenge thing—I heard they’re doing MAJOR LEAGUE 4 and they aren’t including my character, and I got kind of pissed off, so I thought, ‘I’m gonna get ’em back. I’m gonna do a zombie baseball movie.’

What is it about?

“It’s set about 30 years in the future in Pittsburgh—a little tribute to George Romero and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD,” he continues. “The undead have been managed a little bit through drug therapy, and created their own sports leagues and rock bands and things like that. As baseball is starting to slump, those who run the sport decide to have a playoff of the World Series champions against the Zombie League champions. And of course, you know how fans are when they get crazy, so…”

And what about real baseball players acting in the movie?

“I have one guy in mind, if he’ll ever do it: I’d love Randy Johnson, who’s pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks [and is currently with the San Francisco Giants], to be the zombie pitcher. I want real baseball players in this movie.”

You can only hope for the classic line from the first ML movie to be included… “Strike this dead mother fucker OUT!”

More Chuck

According to EW.com, NBC has ordered more Chuck. To be exact, we’re going to be seeing another 6 episodes during this next season. That brings us to 19 episodes, just a couple shy of what would be considered a “full” season.

I can only hope for more Jordana Brewster…ohh, and that other girl Yvonne Strahovski.

Google Wave launched its preview not too long ago to invited-only participants.  I was at a RefreshColumbia.org meeting recently where one of the anointed ones with an invitation, Rick Stilwell, gave us a preview of what it can do.

My impression is that Wave looks like an online collaboration tool that basically tries to mesh in the features of email, instant messaging, twitter and facebook into one program.  The idea here is to let Wave be the platform for social and working groups to organize online in real-time to discuss and work.  (The business aspects are pretty reasonable, but for the personal side, think of a gamecocktaigate.net where everyone can ditch blog posts and chain emails for one “wave” that lets you track and update ideas and schedules as you plan for an event).

Sounds pretty cool, right?

But as I was sitting in the meeting, I was reminded of a post earlier here on Microsoft’s attempt to have Windows 7 parties to promote their new software.  The consensus here was that this idea was ridiculous.  Would Google pull out the same foolishness for its Wave promotions?

Of course not.  There’s no doubt about the following video about Wave…it’s really creative, funny, and does an excellent job showing off the many features of Wave.

So whether or not I’ll actually use wave is completely up in the air.  The features look pretty cool, but I’m pretty sure that my “day job” employer would never let something like this fly as our client data is simply too sensitive for an open source product like this.  Perhaps the social side will gel.  Only time will tell, and only when the “Preview” makes it to “Beta.”

This is LOL funny.

Since this video has absolutely no English you will have no idea what is about to happen… trust me though it is worth the wait.

I came across a great blog today that educated me on the glow in the dark tattoo’s which until now i never new existed.

These things are pretty wild they can be invisible in normal light but will respond to UV light/Black Lights by “glowing” when exposed. Some folks use only the glow in the dark ink while i guess others incorporate regular ink as well as glow in the dark ink. So your dragon can breath glow in the dark flames. Pretty cool huh?

So inquiring minds want to know. As the title of the LA art blog questions have you ever hooked up with a girl with a glow in the dark tramp stamp? I unfortunately have not, but I think it would make a great story!

So this thing is kind of a cool idea and everything, but it seems like they wasted a huge amount of time.  2 months to finish!?  Seems like a really long time for something like this.  Granted i’ve spent my entire life trying to solve a Rubik’s cube and still never have so maybe I shouldn’t complain.
