Jonah Hex

Do you like metal? Do you Like Comics?
If you answered yes then the news of Mastodon scoring the new Jonah Hex film probably has you kicking your cowboy spurs and raising your horns in the air faster then the coeds at the Texas Longhorn opener will be this weekend.
Word on the streetis before heading out on their co-headlining tour with adult swim’s Dethklok Atlanta’s metal masters have been busy working on the new score for the Jonah Hex film scheduled to be released June 10th 2010. It is a Warner Brothers picture directed by Jimmy Hayward and stars Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex. Also appearing in the film will be Megan Fox & John Malkovich.
For those not familiar with the comic here is wikipedia’s description of Jonah:
Jonah Woodson Hex is a fictional character, a Western comic book antihero created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga and published by DC Comics. The right side of his face is horribly scarred. He was an officer for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, fought at Gettysburg and is normally shown wearing a tattered Confederate States Army jacket. Hex is surly and cynical, but bound by a personal code of honor to protect and avenge the innocent and is in many ways similar to Clint Eastwood’s Man with No Name or The Outlaw Josey Wales.
So just to recap for you not only do you have a cool comic book character coming to life you also get Mastodon, Megan Fox, & John Malkovich.
I’m there.

I’ll be interested to see this. I used to read Hex (1 of only a few handful of DC’s I read), but I actually never read Jonah Hex…same character 2 different times in (alternative) history.
per the Wikipedia description the Hex I read (cia. 1985) was a Mad Max end of the work type guy, Jonah was a Wild West type guy…
I think the movie might be good, I just hope it does not end up looking like The Wild Wild West v2010…know what I mean?

Just about anything with Meagan Fox catches my attention. I like the mix of some Mastadon in there as well. These guys seem to be into comics and stuff so this is probably really fun for them.
