Isn’t this how World War Z starts out?
According to the Associated Press, a plague has broken out in Beijing. 2 People have died, and the outbreak prompted authorities to lock down the entire town where a dozen people are “infected” with the highly contagious deadly disease. - this is no joke.
The World Health Organization office in China said it was in close contact with Chinese health authorities and that measures taken so far to treat and quarantine sickened people were appropriate.

Ah the good old pneumonic plague!
That is pretty crazy, but crazy shit happens in China. It would be a hell of a place for the infection to begin. There could be a lot of chinamen to infect.
They probably just need to nuke the town and get it over with.

WTF… have we not come far enough to defeat the diseases from the middle ages?

I actually read a good bit about it and these plagues are quite prevelant. Particularly in Africa still.
I was pretty surprised to realize this, but I guess it is very hard to terminate the disease completly.
