Great Day for a Sports Fan
Today we were hit with two pieces of great news that I think 99% of sports fans will rejoice over!
First and foremost Tony Kornheiser is done with Monday Night Football!
Tony I love you to death on PTI I think you are smart, witty, and funny. That said though you were horrible on MNF and actually part of the reason MNF stopped being must see TV for me. Its okay if you tell the world you are leaving because you dont’ like the travel, but we all know you knew you were not good. I don’t think i have to go out on much of a limb to say that I’m not the only one who did not like your work on MNF.
Tampa Bay Bucs coach Jon Gruden is in. It should be interesting. I love Mike and Jaws in the booth and I think they could do a fine job with out a third person, but the big whigs insist on having a third so a gruff tell it like it is football guy like Gruden should be good.
Now what else could have come out of the sports world that could be on par with this wonderful news about Kornheiser leaving the show?
Mark this day on your calendar boys and girls i don’t have many good things to say about the commissioner of baseball Bud Selig, but today Bud you got it right. Baseball is moving the start time of the World Series back. The games will start at 7:50 instead of 8:40 or whatever it was the past few years. Sure it is not a huge change but it will help. I’m tired of staying up until 1am to watch a game. I have a big boy job. I have to get up and go to work in the morning. I love baseball and this is the first step in the right direction of not screwing over the east coast. They want ratings and the east coast is notoriously good baseball crowd particularly in the northeast, but people can’t stay up until 1am to watch games.
Don’t get me wrong. I still hate Bud, but this was a good move.

Definitely happy about Tony leaving MNF. I wish they would give Dennis Miller another shot, but i think his humor and metaphors are over the heads of 80% of the population.

Could not agree with you more…my only hope is that we get to see the Gruden “snarl” and the visor in the booth….maybe he’ll get pissed at Mike or Jaws and unleash holy-hell.
As for the night games of the W.S., it’s a step in the right direction, but I could go on an on about this one…
I also saw where the Comcast/NFL network deal might be coming to close…could we get “free” NFL network with our digital cable package? The signs are pointing to…yes…maybe

That whole NFL network comcast thing is such bullshit.
The MLB network blows the nfl network out of the water, but i could be biased becasue i am a bigger mlb fan.

I think the third spot in the MNF booth is the equivalent of playing the guitar for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or playing the drums for Spinal Tap….many people cycle through and no one sticks.

I agree with your thought it is kind of the kiss of death to be in that spot.
