I wish I would have gone to school in Freeburg, IL or Dickinson, ND.  Why?  Because both of these schools have one of the coolest mascots I’ve ever heard of.  It’s the Freeburg High “Mighty Midgets,” and the Dickinson High “Midgets.”

And the fun just keeps coming…

Dickinson HS features a school store called the Midget Mart.

Or, you can check out the Dickinson Midgets sports page, where there’s a complete merchandise section waiting for you to spend some cash on some cool “midget” products for normal sized people….like a laundry bag to carry around your Midget in….oops! typo there.  carry around your dirty Midget-supporting laundry in.

Freeburg doesn’t seem to be as commercially successful as Dickinson.  Despite their mascot looking like a bushy-headed Yosemite Sam (sans cowboy hat) with boxing gloves, they aren’t ponying up any cool merch to buy and show your support for the Mighty Midgets.

Too bad the schools that I went to weren’t as progressive and forward thinking as these two schools.
