Movies I’m Looking Forward To
Soitgoes and I were sitting around drinking a few beers last night, when we started to talk about what movies were in the theater that are worth taking a look at… We couldn’t think of much. As a result, I’ve taken on the responsibility to look up what’s coming out in the theater in the near future. The outlook is better then I thought – with something that I think looks cool coming out every weekend.
Before we get started with the list, I want to share what my criteria is – to avoid being torn apart my everybody who hates my taste in movies.
- List includes movies that will be release between March April 3rd and the May 1st (which is really the start of the “big summer blockbusters.”
- List includes all types of movies – not just the big budget action ones
- I love horror/sci-fi movies…so I’m always on the lookout for some blood and guts
With that said, lets get started:
Movies I’m Looking Forward To…the official list:
Weekend of April 3rd:
- Adventureland - This looks like a good comedy. Did well at sundance this year.
- Fast and the Furious - Sorry…I just can’t get enough of Jordana Brewster.
- Alien Trespass - Campy 1950’s style alien movie. Looks GREAT!
Weekend of April 8th:
- Observe and Report - Hopefully will be good. The trailer isn’t too compelling, but I’m hoping it delivers.
Weekend of April 17th:
- Crank: High Voltage - Chev Chelios is a total bad A$$. Mindless action movie that should be fun.
Weekend of April 24th:
- Mutant Chronicles - EPIC. Check out the trailer. This wasn’t even on my radar until now. I may devote a whole post to it in the near future.
Weekend of May 1st:
- X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Goes without saying….this will be awesome.
Now, note, there isn’t jack coming out in the horror world. At least it isn’t being released in the theater. That’s disappointing, but it does look like there will be some cool sci-fi movies coming out. All-in-all, I’d say that April looks pretty good.

Awesome. Thanks for the run down.
This is usually a bad time of the year for me and movies. Generally not much comes out i get on board with.
Of the movies you mentioned only the last two interest me. I had never heard of Mutant Chronicles, but from the review it might have a chance to be good…. or it could go the route of Ghost on Mars….. I’ll have to watch a trailer to get a better idea of what i’m dealing with but it has potential
Wolverine. Um I’m there. Opening weekend. They better not fuck the story up.
By the way observe and report came out last month it was called Paul Bert Mall Cop or something like that

I want to see the new Apatow movie that has a dude looking for a “best man”. Adventureland looks pretty funny. Observe and report might be the movie that is the beginning of the end for Seth Rogan, but I’ll check it out.
