Freedom Countdown…T-minus-2 days
So the election is upon us. The media, and Obama himself, have all but appointed him the next president of the United States. There’s just this little, insignificant, pesky election procedure that we have to go through first before we get there.
The way I see it, there’s really no way for the US to win here. If the media is wrong, and McCain pulls out the election, it’s going to get ugly. All we’ve heard for the past 6 weeks from the TV and newspapers is that Obama’s ahead by a bunch. Nevermind that his lead is within the statistical error. Nevermind that the undecided vote in swing states is anywhere from 4-9 percent. Nevermind that refusals to answer polls is at an all time high. And nevermind that Obama supporters tend to be more enthusiastic about this election and are much more willing to participate in polls. Sure, this is beginning to sound a bit conspiracy theory, but just imagine what would happen if McCain actually WON. The shit would hit the fan.
But that’s probably the longshot. The media can’t really be THAT biased, right? So that brings us to a Dem lead government. A government where “spreading the wealth” is a motto. A government where it’s “patriotic to pay more taxes.” A government that’s already laying down its framework of increasing spending and worrying about where the money’s going to come from later.
True, massive change in certain areas of the US is needed. Healthcare needs a change. Government spending needs to be cut back and debt needs to be serviced before we completely bankrupt the country. Social security is basically nothing more than trillions of IOUs as these funds were assimilated into the General Fund and spent on other projects. The government needs to stop purchasing companies and nationalizing industries.
But is “change” for the sake of “change” a good thing? Is it wise to go with someone who will change the direction of our nation if it’s clearly a direction away from the tenets of our founding fathers?
But change we will have, and it is coming tomorrow. Either in the form of a mystified country lied to by its media as McCain is named president, or in the form of the most liberal, socialistic president elect the United States has ever seen.
But we won’t have to worry about that for too long. Obama will take care of the problems we have today by ushering in his “Change.” Gone will be our economic problems as we distribute our nation’s wealth (we can’t redistribute something that wasn’t distributed in the first place…it was earned initially). Gone will be our healthcare problems of millions not having access to healthcare. Instead, hundreds of millions will suffer in the nationalized mess of a healthcare system created by Obama. Gone will be additional economic hardships as the economy tanks due to his proposed crippling taxes on the economy driving businesses overseas and causing the dollar to drop like a rock. And gone will be our worries of a war in Iraq as we pull out and allow terrorists to follow us home and wage war with us on our own soil (I’d mention something about the boarders here, but nobody in DC wants to protect the boarders for some reason).
Instead we’ll have a new group of people to rely on and confide our interests to. Obama’s proposed Civilian National Security Force (CNSF). With the funding of the military, this new force will help keep America safe between her boarders. Just as its predecessors the KGB and SS did so for their illustrius powers, the CNSF will stand for all of the freedoms that we have given up in the name of change.
Sound crazy? Come on, this is a presidential campaign that enlisted prosecutors and other law enforcement people in Missouri on their “Truth Squad” in an attempt to suppress people saying negative things about Obama. It’s also the same campaign that can’t take hard questions…such as when Biden felt “uncomfortable” about questions being posed to him regarding his and Obama’s statements, and later retracted a previously scheduled interview of Jill Biden with the same TV station. I could mention how they attacked Joe the Plumber, but after they illegally dug through his county records and set out trashing him publicly for asking an honest question to Obama, he’s since hired a PR firm (not that I question his original motives, but the example loses some luster when he gets caught up with the publicity). And let’s not forget that Obama also supports the Fairness doctrine, but recently kicked off 3 newspapers who’s editorial staff (separate part of the newspaper than what the reporters following Obama worked with) announced their support for McCain. They were replaced by such worldly news sources Ebony and Jett magazine, in a response to reach more undecided voters (seriously?). Makes me wonder if it’s the best thing to be talking bad about Obama, or there might be some CNSF agents visiting the d0g’s house sometime in February as Obama cracks down on those opposing his views.
So change is coming, and it’s coming fast. Either we face potential civil unrest with a McCain victory, or the potential doom of our nation’s freedoms under Obama. We’ll see how it goes. At least I have a healthy stockpile of Fat Tire to help me navigate these troubled times.
But make sure you go out and vote tomorrow…either for Obama, McCain, Yoda, or even….Nader! Because either way, when the shit hits the fan, you want to make sure YOUR VOICE was heard. That way we don’t have to simply blame Obama, McCain or Bush…..we can blame YOU!

I do enjoy reading your articles. I’ve been looking at a lot of information yesterday afternoon and today at lunch on the local level in an attempt to educate myself on the state constitutional amendments, local candidates and the insurmountable amount of judges running for election in Fulton County who i have NEVER heard of.
I’m excited to stand in line tomorrow. We’ll see what happens. I think you bring up a great point about the margin of error in these polls as well as the enthusiastic nature of the Obama supporters.
Oh and I thought everyone got their political news from Jet Magazine?

We’ll have to start a thread tomorrow about election lines and waiting times. I need to dig up my registration card tonight (it was filed away somewhere during all of the work this past month).
I was never much for Jet’s political coverage. I thought KING was much more hard-hitting, fair, and balanced.

I know I caught that stat last night on MNF as well…
Last night when Chris Berman interviewed Obama and McCain at half-time, he asked…”if there’s one thing you could change about sports, what would it be?”
Obama….8 team college football playoff system
McCain….Abolish performance enhancing drugs
