McCain really likes talking about earmarks. Seriously, earmarks. Could have gone for the jugular here about Obama’s bailout plan, but kept talking about earmarks.

Question: With the bailout, what would you have to cut out from your plans as president while servicing the $700 billion debt.
Obama just spent the first 3 minutes of talking about what he was going to have to leave out of his spending by talking about all of the things that he was not going to cut out and the things he was going to spend MORE money on…then sums it up with..we’ll definately have to cut something, though

McCain = republican = cut spending
Obama = demorcat = screw busineses w/ taxes and give the money to the poor via programs.

McCain looks super old on the television. HD makes McCain look like a zombie. He’s the living dead. …But he’s actually doing better than I was expecting. 40 minutes into the debate Obama hasn’t soared past him.

Obama basically just said that the Iraq war was crap. He didn’t support it. He thinks it was a big mistake. Big waste of money. BUT, as president he wouldn’t hesitate to use the army if necessary.

Obama vs. McCain: Iraq vs. Afghanistan
Obama calls for more troops in Afghanistan & out of Iraq in 16 months. McCain says he, and Petreyas (sorry about the sp) think obama’s plan is crap.

BTW, Obama doesn’t sound like a complete idiot on foreign policy. He keeps going back to bash Bush, and doesn’t really say what he wants to do, just talk about how bad Bush was, but he’s not embarrasing himself.

McCain is a comic book dork. He just proposed a League of Democracies. I bet their troops would look a lot cooler than the UN. Perhaps spandex, body armour, and capes? Who needs guns when the LOD busts out it’s lazers!

Who know Henry Kissenger would ruffle Obama’s feathers. McCain takes the gloves off and calls out Obama for piecing together his (Kissenger’s) words to match his (Obama’s) views. McCain takes him to task, and the crowd actually laughs.
…Obama’s first major crack, but he’s still holding his ground.

Concluding thoughts….
I’d have to say the debate went pretty 50/50. I saw Obama get more flustered than McCain, and I liked what McCain said a whole lot more, but I can understand where people rooting from Obama will understand what he was saying.
I think what I’m looking for is a more bar-room debate setting. There were many times where I was waiting for a “bullshit” remark under someone’s breath while they were talking and call them out on what they were saying.

MSNBC calling for McCain vicotry on talking points. McCain’s comments saying that Obama is naive and doesn’t understand will surely be spliced together for a GOP add, followed by many of the “you’re right John” comments.
Obama wins on personality. McCain seen as mean and condescending.
