“Wanted” Movie Review

Wanted was one of the best surprises I have had in a movie theatre in a long time. Not since the midget popped up in between Admin’s and my seats looking for ticket stubs at a theatre one time (true story) have I been so surprised. I have to admit when I first saw the trailer for this movie I thought it looked very stupid. It was the unrealistic look and feel of the action sequences that was a huge turn-off. Well, the movie starts off with a Fight Club-esque office existence where life is painted as very dreary and much like the movie Office Space. This was the perfect platform for the launch of a great movie. The main character is pulled into this assisination world where he realizes he is one of an elite few that can controll a special adrenaline that makes him have Jedi like skills. The plot focuses in on the young protagonist searching for the killer of his father as he tries to hone his skills. The action sequences are amazing, unique and innovative. Some of the best I have seen since the Matrix movies. A great surprise for a great movie indeed. (4.5 out of 5 stars)
