Who’s Coming to Your 4th of July Celebration?

Shortly many of us here will be gathering at various parties to celebrate our Independence Day here in Zombie Nation. You really can’t beat getting together with friends, enjoying some beverages, and cooking some finger-lickin-stomach-fillin- BBQ food! Lets face it two of the most important things about enjoying the 4th of July is watching fireworks and devouring all the burgers, brats, dogs, ribs, and chicken you can. Might as well pile on some sides like potato salad, watermelon, and a little good ole American apple pie for dessert!
With this being an election year some of those conversation’s at your party may end up running into the dreaded well who do you like this year. Republicans will roll their eyes at the bleeding left wing liberals more concerned about a tree then watching their tax dollars burn away on poorly administered hand outs by the government to those “less fortunate”, and like wise democrats will look across the table and wonder who invited tin man to the party and wonder if he’ll ever find a heart.
A new poll out puts a little spin on the old question of “Who Ya Got” this year in the presidency when they asked voters who would they rather have at their 4th of July BBQ? The results showed that 52% of those polled would rather invite Barack Obama compared to 45% wishing John McCain could join their party. The other three percent evidently wrote in Krusty the clown wagering we were fucked either way so we might as well have a clown to light the fireworks.
Some interesting info although not that suprising came to light in the poll. For instance men were divided equally while women liked Obama by 11% more then his rival. Whites prefer McCain while minorities were much more apt to flip burgers with Obama. One person in the poll went as far as to say having McCain over would be “more like a retirement party than something fun”. While on the other side another individual who happened to be a Veteran polled would much rather cut the watermelon with McCain because they felt “John and I would probably have a lot to talk about,”
Perhaps the most interesting stat though is that One in Six who are voting for McCain would actually rather have Obama come to their BBQ, while only One in Twenty of those voting for Obama would rather have McCain come instead of the Senator they planned on supporting in the general election.
Is this because Obama is perceived as a younger, hipper, more fun person to be around or by contrast is it that those voting for McCain perhaps are more open minded and would like to “Grill” Obama some to see what he is really all about?
My question for you all is not who you are voting for but who do you want at your 4th of July party and why?
Personally as much as part of me would like to have McCain stop in and enjoy a beer with me and talk about just why he thinks drilling for oil or a gas tax break would actually be effective in the long run I think I’m going to have to say I’d like to throw down with the Obamanator. I mean seriously you know when the dance music starts McCain isn’t getting out on the floor but Obama is gonna get out there and he is gonna bring the ladies out on the floor too. I guarantee you he may be a skinny little guy but i bet he knows his way around the table and would have no problem rollin up the sleeves and kickin back some sweet BBQ chicken. That’s just me the real question is who do you want lickin their fingers at your table with you and why?

Alright no need to be shy about who you voted for. you can share with us why you want McCain. I mean i can think of a lot of good reasons for whoever voted for McCain to have picked him. God knows he could share a good war tale or two.

I voted for the McCain-meyster.
Having Barack at your BBQ would be annoying. He would never actually say anything with substance and every once in awhile you would here “Yes we can” which would cause every body at the BBQ to start cheering… I would wonder why is every body cheering? Then I would realize they were cheering because somebody asked him and his posse to pass the ketchup.
McCain would be slightly less annoying… after all McCain is Irish and having an Irish guy at a party usually brings a little extra excitement.

I may have underestimated the irish card. That is a good call. Who knows McCain might even go for a keg stand.

Now the truth comes out. It is not who you would like at your BBQ that you are going to vote for but it is if you own a pet you will vote for McCain. Now it does not specify in the poll if having a dog or cat leans one way of the other Maybe McCain is winning the overall pet vote but perhaps Obama is ahead among those who own goldfish. They really should have taken this meaningless poll a little deeper so we could know what kind of people really support these candiates.
I love the quote from the woman who owns two cats that says that people with pets are more compassionate, caring, and giving…..
Newsflash Jeffry Dahmer loved animals and treated them well. How is that for a loving compasionate caring person!
