Where Did All the Stickers Go?

In light of George W. Bush’s latest approval ratings, I started thinking about this damn “W The President” sticker.  Only a short time ago, you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing either the above sticker or the Bush/Cheney ones.  They were everywhere.  People who donned the sticker also seemed to be so “proud and patriotic” because of it.  They used to sneer at anyone who didn’t respect it.

So my question to of all of you is, “Where did all the stickers go?”  The last time I saw one of these (besides putting one at the top of this post) seems to have been eons ago.  And the part that really pisses me off is wondering when the embracers of the sticker revolted and removed theirs.  Did they do it under the cover of night to act as if it was never there to begin with?  Did they announce to their coworkers and neighbors that they were “tired of this shit” and then ripped the sticker off in one epic and violent motion?  Or was it such an empty gesture that they forgot about it up until the point when they started seeing less and less of them and finally realized that everything about themselves was taboo?

My feelings for the president have not really changed much over the past 8 years. I just feel my initial judgement of his abilities have become more validated as time has come and gone.

You do not see these stickers anymore because they were used for the 2004 election.

So was everyone instructed to remove the stickers once the election was won? to say that it is strictly tied to the election and the election alone would be retarded. I think you missed the point.

So with your logic… where are all the bumber stickers for Kerry/Edwards? To assume that masses of people removed Bush stickers due to his recent low approval ratings would be retarded.

The point of your post still is interesting. The fair weather fan has always annoyed me, whether we are talking about sports or politics. Unfortunately, most people do not have the principles and the character to support an entitiy through the good times and the bad times.

Standing by your vote I guess? I might even argue that there really are more Kerry/Edwards stickers still out there when compared to the “W” one.

This is one reason i choose not to put stickers on my car. I mean you could feel really strongly about someone or something and then all of a sudden since you don’t really know that person personally something comes out and causes you to change that opinion.

Perhaps this happened to some people who supported Clinton 1.0 when he had is Monica debacle. Maybe they could not believe the man they put so much trust and faith in could do such a horrible thing. (fyi i’m not passing judgement i’m just guessing this happened to some folks)

In some sense a bumper sticker is a lesser version of a tatoo for a car. I don’t get tatoo’s and i don’t go with bumper stickers.

One thing is for sure… stupid parents will always support their mediocre kids for being on honor roll. Those bumper stickers are not going away any time soon.
