“End of Days” Coming Soon?

“In just two months,” World Bank President Robert Zoellick said this month, “rice prices have skyrocketed to near historical levels, rising by around 75 percent globally and more in some markets, with more likely to come.”

I believe every apocalyptic movie I have ever seen starts off with subtle signs. As you can see from the above quote from the World Bank President there are skyrocketing rice prices. Many speculate that the ever increasing world population will some day suck up all of Earth’s plentiful resources including food and water. This will undoubtedly lead to wars and poverty. I am not talking about wars in Africa or the middle east, but more specifically the border of Mexico and the United States.

The rice shortage has lead to mega retail store SAMs club to ban all rice sales of 20 lbs. or more. This shortage is actually effecting us here (to some degree). What is next… are they going to ban fat Americans from eating McDonalds? What if the “End of Days” solved America’s obesity problem and in turn brought our soaring health care cost in check. How ironic would that be? America is the shit! We can not be stopped ;)

We’re on a roll and we’re about to go solo!

I had an interesting conversation about this with my boss today at lunch.
