In a Week of Crazy Radio…
Finally there is something to be glad about. No more 99x, no worries. In the past 3 months all types of crazy things have been happening on the radio waves. We have said goodbye to the Morning X and had to listen to the Bert Show. Even mildly entertaining Steve and Vikki left Star 94. Finally, though, there is good news. The Regular Guys are back on the air. Complete with South-Side Steve and all the interns, one Atlanta radio station is doing something right. Rock 100.5 (formerly Q100, which has taken over 99.7) has now hired the morning DJ’s. Finally a reason to turn off my iPod.

I’ll have to check out the new station. Lately, 97.1 has been my go-to-station…but I just checked it…and…yep…it’s another fucking Fleetwood Mac song. Does anyone else feel that 97.1 is obsessed with Fleetwood Mac?

I was wondering when a new rock station would pop up. What kind of “rock” does 100.5 play?
As for The River…. ever since Murdock pointed out they play Fleetwood Mac about 3 times an hour I could not help but notice it is probably more like 5 times an hour!

100.5 Plays all types of rock. From Classic to New Rock. Since today was the first day on-air, the first song they played was Baba O’Reilly… the first song that was ever played on 96 Rock. And for the record, The River does play other music than Fleetwood Mac. Every once in a while they will also add an Eagles tune. “I hate the fuckin’ Eagles.”

I heard them when they first came on the air this morning, b/c I was up really early since I had an early flight. It was pretty funny… Larry kept on saying “For all you confused soccer moms out there, you can now find the Bert Show on 99.7″ It was nice to hear something that did not cause violent internal hemorages in my brain. The regular guys have talent and that is something that we have not had on the air waves since they left. This is very good news. btw… 97.1 does play songs other than fleetwood mac. Unfortunately, they are the same 15 other songs all the time. Hopefully, this new station does work in some new rock songs to keep it fresh.

My faith in 100.5 died very quickly yesterday. I heard 4 songs. Ozzy’s Mamma I’m coming home, a def leopard song, a ratt song i think it was round and round, and then aerosmith’s love in an elevator. I’ll give them this at least they are an original rock station in Atlanta, just not he kind of rock i have much an interest in hearing.

Sorry for the clutter. Don’t really care about your ATL radio stuff. Just trying to post from my phone.
