Fido?
Anyone see Fido yet? Preview looked kind of funny and was thinking of renting it. Figured this would be a good place to get opinions.

It’s a great satire movie. The movie is a combination of pleasantville, lassie and night of the living dead. I really enjoyed it and laughed out loud a couple of times. It is not a classic or anything but I recommend it.

I agree with the Chad…it was worth watching, but don’t plan your weekend around it..
I give it 3 1/2 brains out of 5

Fido was a pretty cool movie.
Think back to the very end of Shawn of the Dead (after they stop the zombie invasion) where the title character, Shawn, is playing video games with his now-turned zombie friend. Take that idea of a post-zombie invasion world and expand upon it to the total domestication of zombies for the use of yard work, cleaning, shopping, companionship and in some cases sex slaves….and you have the essence of Fido.
Throw in a bunch of campy Leave it to Beaver era dialog and a zombie outbreak….wolla, you have a fairly decent twist on your classic zombie flick.
There are many places in Fido where they just do things right. Chadinator eluded to a lassie part….that will forever go down as one of the top zombie scenes in my book. So silly, yet so perfect.

Thanks for the input. Wifey’s on call tonight so I might watch it while she’s gone and have a few drinks. Figure it’s worth the $3.99 ($4.99 if available in HD) to rent from Time Warner on Demand.
