Barack vs. Hillary
Since we all know a Republican candidate does not have a chance of winning this presidential election I think it is fair to say that the next president of the U.S. is either going to be a black man or a female. Holly Shit! I am cool with either one honestly, but I am still surprised that we are in this position. If you would of told me a few years back that our next president was going to be a black guy or a female I would not have believed you. I figured that maybe someday I would see a non-white ritch guy be a president in my lifetime, but not before 2030. All I know is that I can not wait for the political satire on SNL and Robot Chicken if we get a black man or female president.
I guess it is still possible for Edwards or an outside chance of a Republican candidate to win by the “lesser of two evils” mentality that so many people take when voting. I would like to give my vote to a third party candidate that has not been associated with a party that is guilty of exploding nasty diarrhea all over the American public for the last 30 years. I think a lot of people agree with me based on conversations I have had with people I know.
Also, did anybody hear about Hillary crying in a coffee shop? I bet Iran is licking its chops for her to win. Can you imagine her crying at a diplomatic meeting where the stakes are possible war. “You really hurt my feelings”, she would say as she cried hysterically in front of the UN to the Prime Minister of Iran.

My boss three weeks ago told me he did not see a black man or a woman becoming president in his lifetime. He said probably mine but not his. He is 52ish. Guess he might only have about a year to go before he kicks the bucket.
In all seriousness though I think McCain has a chance of beating any dem that is out there. If he wins the republican nomination i would not count him out. If the Elepahnts throw another bible thumper up there (Huckabee i’m lookin at you mister former baptist preacher) Put a fork in em.
I’ve been wrong before though.
In other news 376 days to go before Bush is out of office.

This may be the first time since that one election that nobody remembers that the electoral college does not vote the way of the American public popular vote.

Not to get too political, but it’d be interesting to see what would happen if Barak won the dem nomination. He has definately been graced with media coverage void of the typical scrutiny of a presidential candidate. Wonder if the media would remove their lips from his a$$ long enough to report a real story about him…aside from the feel good story about the movement behind his campaign.
All jokes aside, I like Barak the most of the 3 dem frontrunners. It’s not that I’m not in favor of a woman president….I’m just not in favor of Hillary. I’d go into why, but that’d take a while. Edwards made his living suing doctors and in the process helped drive up medical costs. The only real beef I have with Barak is his lack of experience (but there are a few funny stories out there that don’t seem to get any real coverage).

Oh, one last thing….I actually like the electoral college thing. I know, I’m probably the 1 person left in the country that feels this way, but I think it helps keep the US in check with all of its states.
Think about it…there are about 3.7 million people living in LA, and about 4.3 million people living in South Carolina. I really don’t want the people of LA (a city) having almost the same voting power as the people in the entire state of South Carolina. The issues effecting each place are totally different, and each should have its own voice. That’s why the electoral college evens things out a bit. Sure, California has a proportionately larger amount of votes than SC, but the electoral college prevents a majority of people living in a few communities from dictating the leadership of the country. After all, it is the united STATES of america, not the united people of america.

I was forced to watch National Treasure 2 this last weekend and a quote Mr. Cage’s character said was… “Lincoln got everybody to say the United States IS instead fo the United States ARE.”
UNITY!
btw… the movie was more tolerable than the first. I was not bored.
